Continuing the advanced training course, doctors of “CPPCS “attended a lecture by the head of the FSBI “USRIMCC” Ustiantseva N.Y. on the topic “Erythrocyte antigens or a transfusiologist’s view on the problem of intrauterine blood transfusion to the fetus” today. They listened to a review report on the medical procedure, which gives an opportunity to prolong pregnancy and avoids dangerous prognosis for the life of the child in case of severe complications. The colleagues visited the blood transfusion department, familiarised themselves with various medical devices.

They also studied the method of surgical intervention for the treatment of twin - to - twin transfusion syndrome on a practical basis. Fetoscopic azure coagulation of placental anastomoses, amnioreduction, and selective reduction of one fetus from twins were applied for the treatment of TTTS. A pregnant patient (14 - 15 weeks) underwent fetal bladder bypass for megacystis. The physicians explained the principles of differential diagnosis of malformation variants causing megacystis syndrome.

Perinatal tactics, clinical indications and results of fetal interventions were discussed. Specialists gave various examples in terms of prenatal counseling, predicting the severity of detected pathology of the fetal urinary system, pregnancy outcomes and perinatal interventions.
